Cooroora Stud is situated in South East Queensland, in the Noosa Hinterland one and a half hours north of Brisbane on fourteen and a half acres of undulating land with a permanent creek running through the center.
The stud was started back in 1986 when we became spellbound by the sight of an iridescent bay, pure Crabbet, stallion who was standing tied to the back of a truck in the car park of the local Horse & Sports club which we used to take our children to.
It wasn't long before our Haflinger cross mare was in foal with our first part Arab foal. The stallion was the Fenwick horse, Jarl (Sindh (Imp UK x Jasmin), owned by John and Carole Kuhnthe, the resulting foal was superb and we have been on a roll ever since.
Even though we do show our stock and all shown stock are champions, the main objective of our stud is to produce sound performance horses with proven bloodlines, usually Crabbet, which are of interest to people who are looking for endurance types.
Our aim is to specialize in the taller, lighter muscled Arabian with good bone, correct legs, longer necks and with good temperament.
We have also invested a great deal into the development of a safe and comfortable establishment for the visiting mares. The stud offers six good sized stables with automatic water feeders. Safe, plain wire, electrified fencing, irrigated paddocks, undercover wash bay, safe foaling yard and an excellent equine vet just minutes away.
